Wedding Guitarist

It's time for sorting out all the aspects of the wedding, following the successful proposal over Christmas! If you're looking for something great for the ceremony, reception and/or first dance - where better to look than at a fantastic wedding guitarist.
We're honoured to work with some of the finest entertainers and wedding musicians in the country, and Thom is clearly one of these.
Here he is photographed playing Roberta Flack, the First Time I Saw Your Face for Debbie and Steve's wedding in The Grove, Watford.

Debbie emailed me after the honeymoon to say
"Hi Brian,
Hope you are well, I just wanted to drop a note to say a big thank you to Thom for his performance at our wedding, he was amazing."

A guitarist like Thom is superb, as he can play a mix of background classical and light jazz, and then build up to a more uptempo set with vocals that is the perfect link to the DJ or band that you are having later. He's highly experienced, and can create a great atmosphere with his top quality playing and vocals.

Xmas Shopping Music

The lovely folk at four23 hired our gospel singers to pull those nervous xmas shoppers in for a bit of retail therapy, or just giving to loved ones (depending on your point of view)....as always, the singers scored a hit in the chilly December weather and brought some festive cheer as only great live music can!
Call us if you are looking to being this festive cheer to any occasion, with our fab gospel choir for hire - and thanks again to Rebecca, Pip, Elin and the others at four23 for their awesome work - judging by Xmas sales, it worked!

New Year

We had a great Xmas, with the lovely people at Google employing our electric violin and turntables duo for their new office opening at Level 4, in Belgrave House in London. See the picture for their cool surroundings, without the need for any extra backdrop.

Thanks to Stephen Rosenthal for hiring us - it was a pleasure to meet you and the very friendly and nice people from Google. We had fun, and Naomi commented that is was the 1st time ever that a client had helped her and Matt take down at the end of the night. She was very happy about this!

As well as that, we provided live gospel singers for Ron Dennis, and also outside Addidas, Covent Garden, played in a beautiful Christmas wedding at the Cavalry and Guards Club, a charity event in Brick Lane, and a Christmas party for Black Sun in Fulham Palace - to name a few of our events. The 20s theme and its fashion continues with Duncan and his guys doing a great prohibition set in their own suave way.

If you're looking for live musicians for hire in any event you're planning for 2012, please do call us - 07958 031797 - we're always delighted to look for the most unusual acts as well as those who just keep getting successfully booked because they're so damn good.

Happy New Year to all from Liquid Strings.

Our Gospel Singers are singing in High Wycombe today. It is an event organsied by Janssen-Cilag and Johnson and Johnson in aid of Positively UK for World Aids Day. 9 singers and a keyboard player will bring the venue alive with their superb singing.

We are delighted and honoured to be involved with this event, and hope that the auctions bring in much money for this incredibly important charity.

Here is Songae, one of our excellent violinists, playing at Jenny Baines' wedding in London in August. Solo violin, cello or harp is a great choice for sheer simplicity and purity of music at a wedding.

As we are now taking bookings for Christmas parties, we have added a superb new corporate entertainment act - ideal for corporate entertainment - which is a rock'n'roll trip into a great era of music. This is perfect with the whole trend of retro and vintage in London. It is a spectacular, costume-changing musical journey, and worth the trip!

Other forthcoming events include gospel singers for World Aids Day event and a string quartet for a Ball in a castle in France. Liquid Strings is also currently taking bookings for wedding jazz bands and wedding function bands for next year.

Live Jazz Band Hire and Liquid Opera

The summer was manic with a host of multiple-booked weddings, where we offered a string quartet, jazz band and covers band to the same clients, so taking care of all their musical wedding requirements.
It was our busiest summer yet - over 50 weddings in August, and great fun trying to get all the gospel singers, string quartets, guitarists, harpists etc. all arranged and ready to play.
We have 2 great new acts on the site. Duncan, a brilliant jazz clarinet player, who also plays sax and flute, with his duo or trio - have a look at this superb jazz band for hire. Jazz band (duo or trio) is great for smaller weddings, corporate events, parties and many other types of event. Duncan is a cheerful character and wants his music to bring a smile to anyone listening. Have a listen to the sound clips to get an idea of this swinging, toe-tapping music.

Also new to the site is Liquid Opera, a collection of lovely ladies (and if needed, one guy to balance proceedings!) with amazing opera voices, whose show will blow you away. The opera singers for hire have an amazing show for corporate functions, which is both musically exciting, funny and can really get your guests going.

Otherwise, we are still taking many booking for Christmas 2010 - live music for Xmas parties is often a choice for upbeat jazz with brilliant gospel singers belting out Christmas carols and creating the perfect atmosphere for the best side of Xmas (think mulled wine/gentle snow/mince pies, not recession/cold dark days!)....live music for events can utterly uplift people and people are still talking about our bands and artists long after the event.
